Plymouth Rock Studios is building their $400+ million studio complex on the former site of The Waverly Oaks Golf Course in Plymouth, Massachusetts. It is proposed that the complex will contain a state of the art move production studio, 14 sound stages, a luxurious movie theater, a 10 acre back lot, offices, a hotel, shops and a restaurant.

The targeted opening date for the studio is the spring of 2010. Not only do we anticipate that the studio will bring much needed jobs to the area, it is anticipated that property values and an interest in local Real Estate will improve as the construction begins and the opening draws near.

MA is not new to the film industry, and is embracing the idea of the studio in anticipation of capturing more revenue from the movie industry. There has seen an increase in spending steadily over the years, for MA based films. Here is a list of Films Made in MA. The list contains movies all the way back to 1903.

Plymouth is such a unique area - renown for its history, fresh seafood, fantastic beaches and close proximity to Boston and Cape Cod. Plymouth is the second largest town in Massachusetts and is immediately surrounded by Bourne, Carver, Wareham, and Kingston. Other nearby towns include: Duxbury, Marshfield, Middleboro (with a proposed destination Casino), and Sandwich.
